"In his strong hand the man held a Rose. And his aura burned bright..."
An ancient design, dating back a century or more, the Rose is a conduit for the Light. It boasts a smart trigger, a barrel insulated in smart gel, a smart-tag system, and few weapons can say they stand alongside it as equals in terms of power. Found in a sunken fortress of the Twilight Gap near a crateload of Ze'Evs, it has proven popular among Guardians for its ability to imbue friends and wielders alike with Light, diffusing and absorbing blasts of most any energy weapon of a foe. Its ability to make Hive and Fallen alike explode from the inside, however, has also proven popular. However, there have been certain studies among some of Dead Orbit's technicians, who, after examining the texts of Dredgen Yor, have postulated that its abilities as a conduit could become inverted, allowing it to channel the power of the Darkness. Such studies are heretical, and any Guardian willing to attempt such a feat or use such a weapon is foolish indeed, placing their Light at risk of being consumed by the Darkness...

This was inspired by the backstory of the handcannon Thorn from Destiny, which I'm convinced is a mascot weapon of sorts for Destiny. I mean, look at that revolver I linked to, it just looks so bizarre. Anyway, I read some stuff on destinynews.net HERE, which confirms what I thought about Thorn being a revolver warped by some evil force of forceful evil. Its backstory is... downright bizarre. I mean, Thorn appears to be an eldritch abomination in revolver form. Anyway, before the Darkness warped it along with its owner, Thorn was evidently known as the Rose. So I decided to try and draw the Rose on a whim, sketch some things out, see how it went. Along the way, one of the engines from the Whizzing Arrow from Oban Star Racers ended up in there, because I love that show. Honestly, while this may not create Thorn if you mentally put it through the same process, I was looking to make a gun that looks its physical opposite-where Thorn is black, shadowy, and jagged, the Rose is meant to be white, bright, clean, and curved.
Also, the grip is intended to be rosewood
